Julia Roberts Is Committed to the Short Suit

This is the third time Roberts has worn the controversial eveningwear in recent memory. In September, she attended Sabato de Sarno’s inaugural Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week wearing a gray knee-length short suit with a pair of black and gold slingback pumps. But last week, at the London premiere of Leave The World Behind she upped the ante, wearing a pale pink Gucci short-short suit from the spring 2024 collection along with a neck full of diamond necklaces and matching beaded fringe heels. While the shoes caught much of the attention, Roberts was just further cementing her love of this bold suiting look.

Julia Roberts’s new film, Leave the World Behind, is taking a backseat to her latest cause célèbre: wearing short suits. 

The actor continued the press tour for her latest movie in a look that could also be worn by a summery James Bond: a white blouse haphazardly unbuttoned beneath a black tuxedo jacket and matching black mid-thigh-length shorts with an undone bowtie slung around her neck. She wore her pleated evening shorts over a pair of black fishnet tights and a pair of heeled black lace-up Oxford shoes, and topped off her look with a pair of black Wayfarer sunglasses. 

Julia Roberts is using this press tour to show us her range in short suiting is just as broad as her acting repertoire.
